Saskeya is an emerging Costume Designer and Wardrobe Assistant based in Manchester, currently pursuing her BA (Hons) in Costume Design at the University of Salford. With a multidisciplinary background spanning textiles, graphic design, and film, she approaches costume not just as clothing, but as a vital tool for narrative and character psychology.
Saskeya’s work is defined by a "Screen to Stage" philosophy. Having directed and styled HETV-standard short films through Screen Manchester, she understands the fast-paced demands of a professional set. Simultaneously, her work on theatrical productions like Macbeth has honed her skills in traditional garment construction, historical research, and the high-pressure management of live performance wardrobe.
A high-achiever with a background in Graphic Design (A-Level, Grade A), Saskeya integrates digital literacy into her workflow, utilising Adobe and Procreate for meticulous costume plotting and character rendering. Her physical craft is equally rigorous, ranging from structured tailoring to intricate hand-beading and textile manipulation.
Selected as a Featured Artist for three consecutive years—including an upcoming exhibition at Gallery Oldham in late 2026—Saskeya’s work has been recognised for its technical excellence and creative vision.
